2011 Motorcycle Helmet Reviews,Price

2011 Shift Agent Double Bypass Helmet. Custom shell design provides both style and function. Injection molded polycarbonate outer shell with EPS inner shell. Multiple air vent channels offer superior temperature and moisture control. Removable Nylex cheek pads and comfort liner allow for a superior fit and moisture wicking ability. Integrated roost guard for additional protection. Exceeds Snell and DOT safety standards

The Agent line is an entry-level pricepoint but the Double Bypass is definitely the most eye-catching. With two patties, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and cheese on a sesame seed bun, wearing the burger lid is as much about fun as it is about safety. The shell is constructed of injection molded polycarbonate and lined with EPS foam to absorb impacts. It surpasses Snell and DOT standards but the features are minimal in this cost-effective helmet.

The Double Bypass feels a bit cheap, particularly the pastci parts. Padding is stiff but the fit is good. It’s not uncomfortable, but it definitely doesn’t have the pillow-top comfort of a higher-priced helmet. One of my favorites in terms of sheer comfort being the Troy Lee Designs Air lineup, which is the type of helmet you can expect to pay triple the price for. But, regarding the Agent’s credentials, despite being inexpensive there’s more than just pickles and mustard. Plastic visor screws are light and serve their purpose, and the Agent helmet has a small integrated roost deflector on the nose piece. I actually like the size of the deflector because it doesn’t interfere with goggles. That’s a good thing because the eye port is just a standard size.

Now for those of you interested in this one, Shift constructs their Agent helmet to exceed Snell and DOT standards using an injection-molded polycarbonate outer shell and EPS inner shell. It's got multiple air channels to keep you cool, as well as a comfort liner and removable Nylex cheek pads to wick away moisture and keep you comfy. And the graphics? They're pretty damn tasty for a helmet with a $99.95 suggested retail.
